Certain drugs both oral and topical can cause sensitivity or allergic reactions if applied before laser hair removal treatments. Certain drugs like Retin A or tetracycline should not be used at least two months prior to treatment.

Anyone that has certain ailments such as, lupus, epilepsy or diabetes should refrain from having laser hair removal. Also nervous disorders should be evaluated before laser treatment begins. If you have a mole in the area to be treated many people choose to have it removed before treatment. As a result of the pigmentation of a mole it may attract too much attention from the laser causing damage and or burning of the skin. The same is true for beauty marks and/or birthmarks.
