I gave my niece a birthday gift this year and that has now turned into the start of a doll collection obsession. I never meant it to be that way it just happened. My niece, Emma who is also my one and only godchild, turned nine in February of this year and on her birthday I gave her a porcelain doll for a present. I had seen porcelain dolls for sale when I was in Georgia on a business trip that’s when I purchased the doll. I choose this doll as it was of very high quality and it happened to be a southern belle of course. The details on this doll were absolutely amazing to the point the doll looked real. It even has real human hair and eye lashes. Her hair closes resembles my nieces hair which is also part of the reason I chose it and I loved the dress it had on. The dress was made of satin and has yards of ribbon and lace as trim. When my niece unwrapped her present she fell instantly in love with the doll. She had never seen a doll like that and wanted to know all about porcelain dolls. I know this was the beginning of her doll collection which is really good as now when I go on trips I can add to this collection on birthdays and other such events.
