Day Tripping from Alicante, Costa Blanca

March 14th, 2008 by the writer

Alicante is easily accessible as the local airport, of the same name, is one of the busiest airports in Spain connected by low fare carriers such as RyanAir and EasyJet. There are also regular ferries to the Balearic Islands and Algeria giving visitors the option make small excursions to add a little bit of a different experience to the holiday. If you have a car, head up from your Costa Blanca villa to the animated, historic city of Valencia which is Spain’s third largest city and is bursting with narrow, cobbled streets dating back to Roman times. Visit the Fine Arts Museum, wander about the old quarter and explore the massive City of Arts and Sciences. There are loads of leafy plazas where nightlife is lively and traditionally Spanish come sundown.
