The Global Business Environment In These Tough Economic Times

The global business environment has taken a beating over the past eighteen months or so. Gone are the salad days of internet bubbles, war bubbles, housing bubbles and oil bubbles. Gone are the days of low unemployment and interest rates, a manufacturing base and a contented workforce. Gone are the days of a balance between the interests of corporations, government and labor. Because of all that, the global business environment simply isn’t what it once was. Fuel costs more, so imports cost more. Inflation in countries where much manufacturing takes place has led to price hikes, as well, and as a result it’s getting harder and harder to do business overseas.
