Astrology and Horoscopes

March 5th, 2010 by the writer

Wouldn’t it be great to know the future? Of course it would be ideal to see what was going to happen tomorrow. This could be an excellent way to avoid something dangerous. The reality is it could save your life having this kind of knowledge. This is why so many men and women get involved with astrology and horoscopes. They essentially want a reading of their future and what is to come. This could be a wonderful way to make more money, protect your family, and get one up on your coworkers in regards to promotions. However, are astrology and horoscope readings real? While some skeptics say no way, others say they have proof that your future lies in the cards.

Have you ever dabbled in astrology and horoscopes? There are different ways people go about this. While some individuals visit psychics or clairvoyant professionals to have their palms read, others go to tarot card readers. Either way, this is a method used to predict future events. When a palm reader takes a look at your hand, he/she is scrutinizing the lines. This is supposed to tell the palm reader what is to come. With tarot cards, you basically sit down and cards are laid out before you. What the card readings are is what you future brings. Naturally this can be good or it can be bad. It all depends on what fate has in store. Are you a believer in astrology and horoscopes yet?

It is fun to visit an astrology expert or tarot card reader if you have never done so before. This allows you to at least get a taste for what they do and how the process works. You may be surprised when they start telling you things about yourself that are true. Then again, some people believe that the predictions are too vague and can apply to anyone. A lot depends on how you interpret things, and how much you read into them. One thing is for certain, if you get involved with astrology and horoscopes, there will be at least a part of you that believes a little. You simply can’t help it; regardless of how skeptical you are as a person.

Check out fun websites like astrology.com and findyourfate.com to get a better idea of what astrology and horoscopes entail. These are simple websites you can access at any time in order to get a reading or have your future told to you. The key is to keep and open mind. There are so many things out there that people cannot explain. So when you begin to think that astrology and horoscopes are completely absurd, just remember that some things do occur in this world that cannot be simply explained. That’s reality!

Hunting and disease and nature friendly hunter

February 25th, 2010 by the writer

There are many possibilities for hunters to get sick. Many critics consider these aspects to be nature’s defense mechanisms towards human interference. Whatever the case may be, care must be taken when outdoors to avoid these diseases and problems. Hunting and disease can put you out of action quick so pay attention to your surroundings.

Just a little poison Ivy or Poison oak is more than enough. While this article is about disease you may get I don’t think that dangerous plants can go unmentioned. Know what you are walking in and how to recognize dangerous plants in the area you plan on hunting.

There are many precautions one can take to avoid getting sick in the outdoors. Attention must be paid at all times to the surroundings and to the natural habitat in which the hunt is taking place.

The nature friendly hunter motto is: Leave the woods the same as when you came or better. Well, minus an animal or two of course. If you are going to be camping overnight, try to disturb as little of the environment as possible.

Don’t clear brush unnecessarily. Try to envision your trip as an overnight stay at someone’s home. You are a guest in the habitat of many animals and some you aren’t even aware of.

Always bury your campfire to ensure that it will not reignite and cause a full-blown blaze in the wilderness. Check your fire several times before leaving the area.

Northern pike techniques and bass fishing tips

February 25th, 2010 by the writer

Gone fishing – that’s where I usually was. In the fall it was gone to fish for walleyes and northerns. Anything else we caught was an accident. Here another of the tips or Northern pike techniques for newbies to catch big northerns.

One day my dad heard the northerns were biting on a small, hard to get to, out of the way, little lake that was back in the middle of a cow pasture. The road to the fishing lake was more of a trail and it’s a good thing I had a pickup as my car wouldn’t have made it back in there.

We were the only people there and I picked a spot on a small point where an arm of water that wandered back into the pasture started. It was fall and I figured the northers might be going into the shallows on the arm to bask in the sun and then come back to the deeper water to feed.

Bass fishing tips aren’t something I have a lot of. As I said before I hardly ever fished for bass. I grew up in Minnesota and if it wasn’t walleyes, northerns or panfish it’s as if it didn’t exist. What I had never caught was a Musky.

I had some friends who had a 32 foot trailer on their lot on Blackwater Lake in northern Minnesota and my buddy and I went up there a few times with the express idea of catching muskies.

It’s a good sized lake with a lot of different habitat and you could catch bass, northerns, walleyes and muskies. Crappies and bluegills were also abundant but the water was so clear it made fishing a bit tough.

We tried for muskies a couple of days and never had a hit let alone a follow so to soothe our disappointment we would fish crappies and bluegills just so we could catch something.

Snowboard Bindings History

February 17th, 2010 by the writer

Snowboard bindings are not, by nature, a very glamorous thing to talk about. They are, however, essential to keeping you safe on the slopes.

There is no doubt however that even from the very beginning of the history snowboard bindings the main purpose of the binding has been to keep the snowboarder’s feet or rather the boots in which the feet are tied in to be properly held in place and tight enough so that it is possible for the snowboarder to transfer his energy on to the snowboard.

Certainly, when one considers modern cap strap binding one cannot help but notice that these modified binding are a far cry from those that were used and which have been recorded in the history of early snowboard bindings, and that these new type of binding are today very tight fitting especially at the cup of the toe so that the snowboarder can get the best in edge control.

Candle Making for Everyone

February 16th, 2010 by the writer

In candle making, you could use a lot of colors and designs and put all kinds of fragrances and scents. Some enthusiasts are even making their own molds made of liquid latex to produce candles with design that already could be considered a work of art.

Advanced candle making classes teaches you how to do it. Using liquid latex molds does have its drawbacks. It is not strong enough to hold the melted wax and usually bends while pouring the hot wax. One solution is to use a cardboard. This can be done by cutting a hole into it that is just big enough for the lip of the latex mold to slip through. This will act as a support while the wax is being poured down.

This article is posted in my candle making answer web site.

The article is about how home made candles can make great gifts and is also a good home based business.

Tips on cleaning vinyl records

February 15th, 2010 by the writer

Cleaning vinyl records could appear like an easy task but it is important that you select the right product for the job.

I tried to use rubbing alcohol for the project but this approach left my discs pretty dry and I was scared that they might become brittle over a period of time.

Rubbing alcohol has a drying effect on many surfaces and it might not be the very best choice for cleaning vinyl records. Rather than going this route I determined to try something additional delicate.

Using Your Backyard Firepit All Year Round

February 3rd, 2010 by the writer

In our neighborhood one of the things that families are passing more time doing is sitting around a backyard fire pit. This is a good way to chill and talk. There are plenty of things that are shared over a backyard fire pit that might not get discussed in the same relaxed manner in a different setting. There are a few things about sitting outside and being heated by a fire and seeing the stars overhead that adapts well to sharing a deeper part of our thoughts and dreams. A backyard fire pit has a means of drawing others. My man and I made a backyard fire pit one or two years back.

We have sufficient space in our yard so we simply laid down heat resistive bricks in a 4 foot square. We probably did this so if we wished to douse a fire it wouldn’t make as big a mess.

Quail Hunting Tips and South Dakota pheasant hunting

January 16th, 2010 by the writer

Pheasant hunting in the Eastern part of South Dakota should be even better this year than it was last year. There have been a couple of easy winters in a row and a lot of reproduction the last couple of years. It looks as if 2009 pheasant hunting will be better this year than last year.

Driving from DeSmet SD on highway 25 South to interstate 90 I’ve seen more pheasants this year than I did last year and there were a ton of pheasants along there last year. It wasn’t uncommon to see flocks of 20-40 birds at once.

I’ve also seen a lot more between Lake Preston SD and Brooking SD on highway 14 than I’ve ever seen before. Same from Lake Preston to Madison SD on highway 81. There are just a ton of pheasants in the area.

Hunting in the Eastern part of SD is just as good as hunting around the Winner area. There are ample places to hunt and plenty of public land that is open for hunting. The South Dakota pheasant hunting is better than anywhere else in the world.

Quail hunting is one of the top sports for those on the upper crust of society. It’s considered the top hunt for the aristocracy and is practiced by vice presidents (don’t quail hunt with ex VP Cheney tho) and world leaders to this day. Quail hunting is considered this way because it demands a lot less of the hunter in comparison to other hunts. Check out the rest of the quail hunting tips.

It doesn’t take place in the morning, for example, or in the shivering cold. Instead, quail hunting can be done in relative comfort and can actually be quite stylish. For this reason, many people in the upper class of society try quail hunting.

Lot of hunters stay in quail hunting lodges and many of the hunting shows you see on TV are Texas quail hunting shows. Other states, including South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Arizona, New Mexico and California also have great hunting. You can find Quail in most states but not all.

Northern pike fishing tips for freshwater fishing

January 16th, 2010 by the writer

This is a fishing blog. Just one of many fishing blogs on the net but I hope it becomes one of the better freshwater fishing blogs on the net. For me it’s a natural to have a blog about fishing and it fits right in with this site and it’s hunting and fishing forums.

Fishing is my favorite sport. I suppose I should say fresh water fishing is my favorite outdoors sport as I don’t particularly like ocean fishing. Then again I’m not much on river fishing either. Probably because I learned to fish in freshwater lakes and that’s where I’ve done the bulk of my fishing.

What’s my favorite fish to catch? When I’m fishing whatevers biting becomes my favorite fish. Sure, I start out fishing for walleyes or northerns but if I find the crappies are biting good I’ll switch to crappies. Having a love for catching as well as fishing I go with what’s biting the best.

These northern pike fishing tips are primarily for fall northern pike fishing. For me fall northern fishing was always better than spring fishing. Doing most of my northern fishing in MN, with their late opening season, generally the big northerns were already in deeper water by the time the season opened. At least in Southern MN.

I’m going to assume you have some knowledge about fishing for northerns but I’ll give a couple of the techniques I use and some tips on what I look for when fishing northerns in the fall.

As far as northern pike fishing lures goes I liked a large red daredevle, a fluorescent orange and gold daredevle, a magnum floating rapala, musky lures like a suick or a musky spinner. Big lures were good lures and still are under the right circumstances. However I will say that he majority of my big northerns have come on bait and not northern pike lures.

Basic cooking skills for ground beef recipes

January 16th, 2010 by the writer

Basic cooking skills

College students and single adults are often at a loss to think of something they can cook for a real meal because they don’t have basic cooking skills. Tuna sandwiches and chili can get old. Here we present some easy to fix meals that go way beyond opening a can or grabbing a fast food takeout. Setting up your kitchen cookware doesn’t need to be an expensive proposition either. You just need to buy the right pots and pans and a few inexpensive bowls and utensils to put together some real home cooked meals in no time. Learning just a few basic cooking skills, you’ll soon be eating better and cheaper. Let’s see just how easy this can be!

When you’re cooking for one, or maybe an occasional guest, you might assume that a whole roasted chicken or roast is out of the question. What will you do with all the leftovers? The answer is plenty!

Stocking your kitchen with the necessary cookware is as easy as pie. Instead of a frying pan, most often listed as a necessity, buy a home griddle. The price is about the same as a good frying pan, but far more versatile.

I love easy recipes made with hamburger and a dinner made with ground beef and potatos almost guarantees I’ll show up to eat. I make a hamburger potato casserole that practically guarantees I’ll over eat. Hamburger casserole recipes are some of the easiest things there are to make.

If you already have a few ground beef recipes I can give you two tips, right now, maybe three, to make them better.

When doing anything with ground beef, frying, grilling, broiling, etc. make sure you get the outside of the hamburger, brown. There is nothing that tastes worse than grey ground beef.

Always, always salt and pepper the outside of the meat before you start cooking it. Even if you are breaking it up and browning it for a casserole. It will make a huge difference in the taste.

Evaluating a Classic Car

January 15th, 2010 by the writer

Whether buying or selling an antique car, it helps to be a little bit versed in antique car appraisal techniques. Otherwise, if you are a buyer you may end up vastly over paying for a vehicle, or if you are a seller, you may sell it for less than it’s worth.

If the vehicle can only be utilized for parts, and the vehicle itself has no value except for the individual parts that can be taken from it and utilized in other cars. Antique vehicle appraisal of a parts vehicle could seem a bit of a waste to some enthusiasts but the people who do the antique vehicle appraisal know their standards. The automobile might not be a candidate for an all out restoration therefore they will not waste other people’s time and money by declaring it usable except for parts.

If the vehicle is restorable, meaning that the car in question has potential to be restored. The vehicle model and make ought to still be recognizable to warrant this antique car appraisal rating. It may also need a complete body, chassis and interior restoration if it is appraised in this condition. Most likely the engine will also need some attention so with the exterior but not to the point that you restore more than a third of the body, chassis or interior

Steps To Writing a Book

December 31st, 2009 by the writer

There are some essential first steps to writing a book.

1) Determine Your Subject – before you begin writing a book, choose one or more subjects that interest you enough to warrant you spending 2, 3, or 4 months immersed in it. If you have no interest in your subject matter, not only will the odds of your success be diminished, but you’ll also be bored writing it.

2) Do your market analysis – ok, you have your subject, but is there a market for it? Unless writing is simply a hobby for you, the overriding purpose of you writing a book is to sell it. Is there a market for your proposed book? How do you know? Without a viable market, the odds of your book even being approved by a publisher are slim.

Show Your Youngsters The Immeasurably Small Parts Of Their Reality With Children’s Microscopes

December 29th, 2009 by the writer

Microscope for kids are a great means to render your kid an opportunity to explore the realms of our physical universe that cannot be seen by any other ways. These microscopes might not be near the equal of a professional microscope, but they do allow kids to get up and close to all of the gross things that little boys and girls enjoy.

If your youngster is expressing an interest in biology and wants to know what is in that drop of water or wants to discover what the legs of a spider look like up close and personal then this is the best means to allow them the joy of doing so.

Successful turkey hunting

December 29th, 2009 by the writer

One of the most popular ways to hunt turkeys is with a bow and arrow. It is a tradition in North America that relies on turkey calling and making the perfect shot. There are many agencies and organizations in place that either want to put a stop to turkey hunting or those that support the tradition of turkey hunting.

Like most warring factions, these two groups will stop at nothing to continue with their ideals. One can’t typically pick a side on the issue of hunting without knowing the issue itself. It is important, to get as much information on turkey hunting as possible to make an informed decision.

You can hunt turkeys in the spring and in the fall but you need a permit or license if you are going to hunt turkeys. The spring and fall permits, however, are different. The spring permit allows you to hunt in a specific area during one of the 5-day turkey hunting periods but this varies by state.

In the fall, your permit will enable you to hunt any day during the season, as long as it is within the zone listed on the permit. Once again this does vary by local state turkey hunting laws so check the laws in your area.

Successful turkey hunting takes a lot of patience. Spring hunting involves less patience, as you make hen turkey sounds to try to get a gobbler to come to you. Turkeys don’t mate in the fall, though, so you will have to patiently engage in stand hunting. Stand hunting involves finding a spot and then waiting for the turkey to come to you.

Ice fishing safety for ice fishing fun

December 29th, 2009 by the writer

You’ve probably heard the saying, “No ice is safe”. While this is true, it’s not practical advice for a lot of us in the Northern climate where playing or working on frozen water is part of our lives. Ice fishing has many opportunities for things to go disastrously wrong when the dangers of ice aren’t appreciated or prepared for properly. That’s why ice fishing safety is important.

Sometimes we tend to rationalize the dangers of ice fishing, thinking of all of the fun of catching “the big one” after drinking a case of beer with friends while downplaying or omitting altogether the inherent dangers. Life or death situations can and do occur on the ice and often without notice, so it is smart to take a few precautions prior to driving or walking on frozen water.

There are fishermen who can’t wait for winter and the lake to freeze solid. Ice fishing is a sport that many people enjoy, extending the fishing season to year-round pleasure. What’s more, ice fishing is a great family activity.

What makes ice fishing so appealing to families is that the sport isn’t just about catching fish. Getting outdoors and breathing crisp, good air while having fun sums up ice fishing well.

Smiles, laughs, and playing in the snow are all pretty common occurrences while out on the ice. Those reasons are just some of the few that even people who hate fishing get hooked on this winter activity. If you’d like to try a day of ice fishing fun with your family, here are some things to keep in mind.

Shot Glass Display Cabinets

December 23rd, 2009 by the writer

If you are collector of shot glasses, you definitely need to store them in a glass display cabinet. These cabinets range in size and design and can be mounted on a wall or anchored on a table for viewing. Basic sizes range from 21 shot glasses to about 144 glasses. Decide first if you are a serious collector or not. If you’re just starting out, the 21 shot glass display may be enough for you. If you already have a pretty large collection, then you may want a larger one. These glass display cabinets usually come with either a felt backing or a mirrored backing. Each gives a distinct look so you need to decide what your preference is. Shot glass display cabinets usually come with some kind of wood framing. The most popular types are oak, cherry, maple and mahogany.

Confused About RC Model Airplane Engines?

December 23rd, 2009 by the writer

If you are confused about RC model airplane engines, join the club. As a novice radio control hobbiest, the terminology can be dizzying. Is a 2-stroke engine the best choice? Are 4-stroke liquid fuel engines easy to maintain? Is electric r/c engine technology the wave of the future in flying model aircraft? These questions and more may keep you from actually buying a model and learning to handle radio controlled models.

In some peoples minds the inexpensive two stroke engines are a great choice and that may be true if you like to fiddle with engines. The glow engines are easy to use and a bunch of model airplane lovers cut their teeth on nitro powered engines.

Four stroke models produce similar power at lower rpms and allow the use of larger props for flying the bigger planes with 3ft and more wing spans.

The most versatile of all is the electric rc engine, because it has brought the cost of a model airplane that is ready to fly within the reach of almost anyone. The models are more durable than the balsa kits that many of us built in our youth, and safe for almost any age to use. Plus, it seems that each year the batteries used in electric models are lasting longer and require less charging time between flights.

Paint Balling for Beginners

December 14th, 2009 by the writer

You probably have heard of one of the world’s fastest growing sports known as paint balling or more commonly referred to as “paintball”. This sport is a combination of many skills, and as such there is much more to it than simply running around the bush or field dressed up as “Rambo”.

Unfortunately there is a great deal of misinformation out there, generally put forth by people who have little, if any, real experience playing this exciting game. Tales of “so-called” injuries from playing paintball abound, yet if you wear the proper gear and follow the rules, the most you may have at the end of the day are some insignificant welts and perhaps a scrape or two from falling down or tripping while running through the bush or on the course. A very small price to pay for your participation in such as exciting, adrenaline pounding sport!

To this date, there are no verified deaths or life threatening injuries from paint balling or paintball being played in the correct manner. So what are you waiting for? If you are still unconvinced, read my article “Introduction to Paintball” for more information.

See you “on the field of battle”!
