Find Your Special Event Venues at these Event Venue Locations

March 12th, 2009 by the writer

If you are planning a gathering or an event for someone special, an appropriate venue will be useful to create the atmosphere. The venue is the location where the event will take place. Finding special event venues is much easier today than it used to be thanks to the Internet. Before starting your search for a location you will need to work out the details of your event. First of all, what kind of event are you planning? A corporate conference will require a very different venue than a child’s birthday party. Keep a notebook where you can record details, notes and ideas regarding your event.

In your notes you should record what kind of event you are planning, the date of the event, how many people you expect, whether you need an indoor or outdoor location, and any other pertinent details. Having this information written down in a notebook will come in handy when you are researching different venues. Once you have the basic information written down you can start searching for locations and planning the details. In addition to the Internet you can also search the Yellow Pages although you are likely to find more detailed information online.

Vacation In A Country Of Windmills And Cheese

March 3rd, 2009 by the writer

Nationaal Park De Hoge Veluwe is a great park to explore by bicycle. Beyond the park, you can continue through moorland to Zwolle, where is an extensive area of lakes stretching to the attractive Frisian town of Sneek.

Or for a bigger challenge go round the IJseelmeer. Until the 1930s this big lake near Amsterdam was not a lake but a sea. Who can resist cycling round a sea? The Ijsselmeer is one of the most beautiful areas in the country and the perfect Dutch experience for a cyclist.

There are plenty of cycling excursions from Amsterdam. For a great easy four-hour round trip from Amsterdam, cycle southwards along the banks of the River Amstel. After a half-hour you will emerge into the countryside on the way to the pretty village of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel.

Comfortable Sofa Beds from Sofa Sleeper Beds to Ottoman Sofa Beds

January 4th, 2009 by the writer

If your home has space limitations or may be just want a dual purpose seating and sleeping option for your guest room, living room or bedroom consider a sofa sleeper bed. Sofa beds are ideal for saving space because they fold up into the size of a sofa when not being used as a bed. And, they’re perfect for kids’ rooms because folding the bed up means more play space and seating during the day. These days, there are all kinds of sofa beds from which you can choose. As you’ll see when shopping, they range from affordable to expensive.

The first thing to consider when searching for a convertible sofa is size. Consider both the room size and the size of the sofa bed when shopping. A piece of furniture that is too large for the room in which it is placed may seem overwhelming. On the other hand, a larger sofa bed is ideal for a spacious room that feels empty. When it comes to sleeping accommodations, most of these beds are double sized, which means they are suitable for one or two people. Before buying, feel the mattress to make sure it is comfortable and supportive enough.

Style is another big consideration. You can find sofa beds that look and feel very traditional and classic. Some may even feature luxurious fabrics such as leather or suede. Sometimes you’ll find a sofa bed as part of a set, depending on where you shop. If you want a look that is relaxed and casual, consider a futon. Futons are similar to sofa beds in that they can be used both as a seating area and a bed. The difference is in the details — futons are usually low to the ground and much more simple in design than a classic sofa bed.

Price is another important consideration when buying a sofa sleeper bed. As mentioned before, you’ll find sofa beds ranging from cheap to costly. Because different shoppers have different budgets, it is important to take a look at the variety of sofa beds available and consider the choices that meet your particular price range yet offer the features you want. You’ll also need sheets and blankets for the bed, which are often sold in sets. The various bedding items available today for convertible sofas come in a wide variety of styles, colors and fabrics.

Hiring Amateur Musical Groups For Entertainment

October 28th, 2008 by the writer

Sometimes, it’s nice to have an amateur band with raw, unvarnished energy come in and put on a wild rocking show. It’s just that these bands can not be counted on to make you money. Usually, I’ll just give them a couple drinks and maybe 10 bucks each if it’s a good night. Enough to cover gas money, but not cut of the door. After all, if they’re not making me any money, I can’t really afford to pay them. Most of the amateur musical groups get this, but a few of them don’t. I’ve definitely had my share of arguments with musical bands who are expecting me to be blown away by their performance and offer them loads of money. I don’t know what they think I am.

How to promote a concert

May 20th, 2008 by the writer

Have you been kind enough to offer your help but now are struggling to know just how to promote a concert?
It’s not that difficult once you apply yourself to the task and really, everything is just common sense. It’s just that you haven’t had to consider it before!

Firstly, time and timing is very important.

Treble check the date of the concert so that there’s no confusion there. (It has happened) Then make sure that any publicity is printed and ready to be displayed in plenty of time. This allows for hold-ups at printers, weekends, bank holidays etc.

You want a good return on ticket sales so don’t leave publicising the event till the last minute. Things like” book now to avoid disappointment” and “when they’re gone they’re gone” are good stock phrases to use.

The design of any posters, flyers or leaflets that you create is vitally important. They have to meet the A.I.D.A criteria. Not sure what that is?

A=attention
I=interest
D=desire
A=action

Basically, the design needs to be good enough/bright enough/unusual enough to attract everyone’s attention. But especially the attention of your target audience.

Some research into what’s grabbing that particular age group’s attention would be a good idea when it comes to promoting a concert.

There should definitely be something of interest in the flyer etc too. Not just a blatant advert. Add some interesting fact, an anniversary of something, the fact that this is a return by popular demand or similar.

Then you’ve got to make the audience want to come – the concert’s got to be unmissable. Why? Use your imagination because people act on their desire.

Finally, if all the above works, then your audience will decide to come because all that’s left for them to do is take action!

Be sure to get this promotional literature everywhere that the potential audience will see it, including the venue itself.

If you or some helpful volunteers are putting flyers out yourselves, it’s best to stick them at around eye level for maximum effect.

Get them in local shops, libraries, shop & café noticeboards, colleges, schools( if that’s the relevant age group), Uni’s, local government halls, council offices, village halls, supermarket & mall boards.

Like I say, any where and everywhere.

Obviously get a good deal on your printing costs if you’re really going for it & don’t worry if you sometimes have to compromise on quality as a ‘rough’ effect for some publicity flyers can have a good unusual effect.

I could go on as there are lots of angles to look at & this has just been a taster on how to promote a concert. But I hope it helps.
