Aid our outdoor feathered friends make it through the winter months by hanging bird feeders in your backyard.
As more of our urban and rural America are being taken over with buildings and pavement our friendly wild birds are finding it more and more difficult to locate natural havens to support their needs, in terms of food and nesting spots. During the winter months, it becomes very difficult, due to cold temperatures, snow, and reduced supply of food. Any bird watcher can certainly vouch for the enjoyment you may obtain by simply watching their habits and sheer beauty. Why not help out our bird community? Putting up hanging bird feeders all around your backyard fulfills both objectives. Here are some tips on the way to place and maintain hanging bird feeders for maximum enjoyment for you and your area wild birds.
Pick your spots prudently. You want to be sure the hanging bird feeders are well out of the range of predators such as squirrels and cats. Even if you do not have cats, there may be plenty of kitties roaming the neighborhood, who will bother the feathered friends in a heartbeat as they chirp and twitter during feeding times. You will find that cats are very patience when it comes to watching and stalking birds.
In addition, you need to consider the Squirrel Proof Feeders because those pesky squirrels love bird seed and will do anything to get to the seeds. They are also able to consume a large amount of seed. Squirrels are known for their ability to destroy bird feeders. That is why you need to look into acquiring the squirrel proof feeders.
When hanging your bird feeders, be sure to locate them such that squirrel and cat can’t climb the tree and easily reach his would-be prey or the bird seeds in the case of squirrels. This includes bird feeders that are hung from a porch or balcony rail.

Dog cages for cars are for transporting your pets safely and comfortably. It is critical to find the right dog cage that not only fits inside your car but makes travel easier for your dog. Traveling can be stressful for animals, but if you have the right dog cage of kennel or crate, you can make traveling fun for everyone involved. Sometimes you can go with a bar assembly for the back of your SUV or van and that will give your dog the entire back of your vehicle which will provide a lot of room for him. You can also purchase stacking cages that fit side by side in the back. These are good for pet parents who have more than one dog.

The Chihuahua Pomeranian mix, sometimes called the Pomchi can be the product of a Pomeranian breeding with a Chihuahua or it can be the offspring of two Pomchi’s – either way they are cute! While Pomeranians are long-haired, Chihuahuas can either be long or short haired and the Pomchi can be either long-haired, shorthaired it can have a single code or double coat like the Pomeranian. They come in any color variation like their parents and can be solid, parti colored, sable, or merle.
Typically, these dogs will have much the same personality traits that you will find in a Pomeranian or a Chihuahua. These dogs are intelligent and alert and very sweet pets. While they are quite easy to train to do tricks and obedience, they may be difficult to housebreak. Being sensitive little dogs they will need positive reinforcement and should not be punished or subjected to harsh treatment.

For almost all dog owners, dogs are not just pets, they are indeed a part of the family. And because they are treated as additional member of the family, it is only logical that dog owners do their best to keep their beloved pets as clean and posh as possible.
You must trim the nails of your pal once a month. Clippers, which are designed specifically for dogs, are always better to use than scissors. Ensure that you trim the nails properly and not too short, as it may lead to bleeding. In case you cut it too short, use a blood-clotting powder to treat the wound. If the bleeding continues, consult a veterinarian immediately.
Remember, not only humans have to brush their teeth, dogs too! Dogs can develop cavities and other mouth, teeth, and gums problems as well. Ensure to use pet toothpaste and a toothbrush to clean your pet’s mouth twice a week.R
These grooming tips are so simple yet are a great way to have your dog looking clean and fabulous for your next pet photography session. Also read about San Diego dog photographer tips.

We first have to understand that a fish tank and a turtle tank are two different things. Fish needs only water to survive. This is why fish tanks are completely inundated with water. On the other hand, the turtles are amphibians. They need land as well as water. It is imperative to provide them with some kind of dry surface they can cling to, when they want to come to land. For fulfilling this prerogative, the turtle tanks are provided with a rock that is only half submerged in water. Moreover, even the tank should be only half filled by water. The rock can be substituted with worn driftwood or cork bark floats as well.
It is important to provide the turtle with sufficient space to extend itself; both in terms of length sand height. This is why perhaps a 20 gallon tank is considered optimum. This again is optimum for a very young turtle but soon their limbs and body outgrow the tank. This is why it is important to buy a tank that is far bigger than the stipulated requirement. Why don’t we plan it this way that we do not have to buy a tank ever again?

Even as a young child, I disagreed with my family’s punishing dogs for unwanted behavior. I never succeeded in persuading my parents to my way. Over many years, I’ve had many dogs. Although I prefer positive reinforcement and affection training, I have used “traditional” techniques with choke collars and have learned other ways to make dogs heel and walk well on a leash. These approaches often combined negative consequences or punishment for unwanted behavior and positive results such as praise or a food reward for desired acts.
An alternative view has become popularized recently that is based on an assumption that the dog is like the wolf in a pack. Cesar Millan is perhaps the most recognized advocate for this view. He asserts that the dog is in need of a dominant leader and that must be the dog owner. In reading some research into this ethological approach, I’ve learned that some people question whether the dominant leader thesis applies more to wolves than to dogs. Nonetheless, I’ve tried some of this approach. It has helped me to be more consistent and firm.
I’ve come to accept that my approach with dogs will always involve friendliness and warmth combined with leadership. My style inevitably reflects my personality. I want to lead, but I don’t want to dominate. I suspect other dog owners may have a similar need to integrate approaches with their own personalities and to select dogs that match well to the training style of the owner.

When thinking about puppy crate training, it’s good to look outside the box at all the other great benefits that it provides.
Your puppy is a pack animal by nature and as such he will feel comfort by having his very own den. Here he will feel safe and secure and will have somewhere of his very own to retreat to when it all gets too much.
Crate training also has the added bonus of potty training your puppy at the same time. A dog will not soil his own territory where he lies and sleeps.
Transporting your puppy can be very stressful for both of you, so by popping him in his crate, he will feel relaxed and safe and you will both have a great journey.

Tropical Fish Tips And Advice
An article excerpt from a tropical fish article. Knowing when to feed your tropical fish is another trick of the trade. Beginner and rather new amateur tropical fish pet owners will usually feed their tropical fish whenever they keep in mind, at any time of your day, just when they thing it ‘suits’. The best strategy nevertheless would be to feed your tropical fish at the same consistent times, varying them slightly depending upon the time of day and even the outdoor weather and lighting.
Some tropical fish tips and techniques are also not readily revealed by the pet shop owners. These include certain types of tropical fish that just don’t get on with other kinds. For example, some fish might be much more prone to disease than others depending upon their environment. Some species and breeds of fish may even go so far as to eat their smaller counterparts. The last factor you would like would be to set up a fish tank and watch your bass slowly disappear due to either of these terrible things!
So at the end of your day, be mindful of these tropical fish tips and techniques, and use them to your advantage when caring for the bass and your fish tank. All it takes is one mistake to break the natural aqua cycle of your tropical fish atmosphere, causing all your hard work to come to a complete halt.

When your new puppy joins your home and family, you are always under the impression that all will be hunky dory and the last thing you would expect is an aggressive puppy on your hands.
It can be stressful and upsetting to think that this cute bundle of fluff could be so nasty towards everyone, but with the right aggressive puppy training, things can get better.
The best dog training advice that I can give is not to ever confine your puppy as a punishment. Hitting them is also out of the question.
Fear-Motivated Aggression will show through when a dog feels threatened or scared.
Territorial Aggression is when your dog wants to protect his territory. This is also common when eating food and they exhibit “guarding” tendancies.

Foam dog beds are fantastic with regard to dogs with assorted medical issues. They are great for dogs following surgery and for dogs that have bone, combined or muscle difficulties. Foam dog beds tend to be created with a dog’s health insurance and security in thoughts meaning they are great for any dog.
Foam dog beds really are a wise expense for the dog. You can assist in preventing bone fragments and joint problems in your dog’s long term by having them sleep on one of these simple beds. Many breeds of dogs are susceptible to bone as well as joint pain within their old age. Starting to safeguard the dog whilst they are young is a smart and gentle move to make for that pet. Having them lie on one of these gentle foam dog beds rather than the difficult top of the ground or a floor can help to save some scratching to their joints and bones.
The foam employed for these dog beds is generally memory foam associated with orthopedic grade that protects the most comfort for the pet. Foam dog beds have materials covers which are easy to thoroughly clean. Most of them include an internal lining that’s waterproof. Numerous colours as well as designs of foam beds can be found. The thickness from the beds differs as well. With regard to larger dogs, you will need the thicker mattress compared to you will the scaled-down dog because of their weight variations.
Purchasing a foam dog bed for the pet before these people begin to have any type of bone fragments and joint pain is a great way to let the dog know you love them. Consider it as preventative medicine. It expenses a lot less to purchase a foam bed to protect your dog from the first day compared to it does to pay for surgery along with other healthcare bills that may arise if your dog starts getting too many bone fragments issues. Plus, should you start now, you could lay aside your own precious pet a lot of pain.

The frog prince is a great fairytale and this is a great costume for your dog. Your dog will look so darling in this costume or any of the many other costumes. The story is about a prince that was turned into a frog. He tries to get the uppity spoiled princess to kiss him if he gets her a golden ball that she has clumsily dropped down the well.
She agrees to kiss him is he will retrieve her ball. Then she reneges on the agreement and runs for her castle. She hopes the frog’s little short legs can’t keep up with her and she can get away. He finds her and he does get his royal kiss. This turns him back into a handsome prince. Hopefully he finds a sweeter princess to marry that will appreciate such a wonderful frog.

You might not think so, but birds in cages need to play just as much as children do. And this is where bird toys and games are very useful when caring for your pet bird. Birds require toys for various reasons. Among the most significant reason is that they need toys for their exercise benefits. In the wild, they get exercise automatically by simply going about their daily chores – mainly hunting and searching for food.
Unlike, in the wild, birds have limited mobility while in cages. Like all animals, they need to move. Birds also have a natural need to chew on things. Bird toys help to fulfill both needs.
Toys are good for the health of birds in another way also. When birds have nothing to do, they become depressed and act out in ways such as pulling out their feathers and so on. Bird toys give them more positive things to do instead. Chew toys help to keep their beaks and bills in good condition as well as forcing them to use their facial muscles, and thus helping to retain the mobility in those muscles

Do you not want to be just one more witch during Halloween, seeminly like the rest? Do you really want to be like all the others, or do you want to be adventurous? Think about adding your favorite pet dog to your outfit!
What?
Adding a pet in costume is what I recommend as an answer to creating uniqueness. That’s right!
First, the answer to a really wonderful witch costume is to not overdo it, although this matter is easier suggested than implemented. There is a big temptation to go overboard with the enormous black crown, several face warts, a robe, unattractive dull toed boots, and the rest. You know the image I’m thinking about, don’t you? But I generally say that if you intend to costume like a witch, do it with style to not be overly evident. Witches don’t immediately want to stand out. The ideal witch costume will make one look like a witch that is hidden, seeking to function like a typical woman. That way, people will be all the more delighted to recognize you and discover that you are actually a witch. That kind of witch costume will make one far more intriguing for all of the people near you.
Now add your puppy in costume to that minimalist witch appearance and you will definitely be memorable! And to finish the package, monogram a name or initials on the puppy’s outfit. Wow! You and your pet will be the topic of conversation for a long time!

Candy filled bags, trick or treating neighborhoods, colorful leaves, cool temperatures all signal a grand time for the children of the country. After homework is finished, their thoughts turn to other decisions such as what to wear that one special night. Each year, the young and old put their heads together and dress the part of their favorite character.
A Halloween costume devil outfit plays right into the hands of this scary night. These ensembles come in many different styles such as sexy, sassy, cute or bratty. Men can choose Lord Lucifer or the Dark Demon.
Put a little Walt Disney into your thinking and choose the Cruella De Vil costume for the ultimate mean woman. In fact, when you walk down your street in this costume, dog lovers will be hiding their pets.

Poodle obedience training is important in a number of ways as it provides the basis for all the situations around the home. If you have a young dog, or a poodle that does not behave properly, you should consider an obedience class to help you get started.
Your dog will learn a number of basic commands in an obedience class. But you will need to carry through with the training at home. If not, you will not be able to maintain the control you need over your poodle. You must be consistent, and make sure everyone in the household understands the training process.
Understand that your poodle will only do what he is taught to do. The most important thing to remember with poodle training, is to be consistent with the commands you give. If you stop asserting your authority your dog will revert back to the original behaviors and you will be right back where you started.

Plastic plants can make your aquarium much more interesting from both your viewpoint as well as the viewpoint of the fish. But there is nothing like having real plants in your aquarium.
Live aquarium plants do offer advantages for your tank. They soak up nitrate and ammonia as well as producing oxygen. They act as natural filters to help keep the chemical balance of your tank water healthy. They can also be quite visually pretty and vibrant, and are capable of fitting in with any interior decor you may choose. You can find low-maintenance plants which simply need to float on the top of the water to survive, which makes maintenance extremely easy. Also, you risk no danger from any strange paint or chemical leaking from a plastic plant seeing into the water. As far as cost, the majority of live aquarium plants cost just about the same as plastic plants.

If you are looking to add a little color and excitement to your aquarium, one way to do this is with aquarium backgrounds.
Backgrounds can convert a boring, unremarkable aquarium into an stimulating seascape influenced work of artistic creation. A lot of pet fish owners will stock their aquariums with attractive plant life to give added interest to the aquarium. The addition of an aquarium background merely enhances the full aquatic environment. But, adding a background to your aquarium has a pragmatic reason as well. It adds a sense of depth to your aquarium, making it seem bigger than it actually is.
Aquariums are essentially containers of fish and other marine life and organisms. The majority of the fish come from either the rivers and lakes or the oceans. There are typically two kinds of aquariums – fresh water aquariums and salt water aquariums. Almost all of the tanks are made of either glass or acrylic which enable you to view the fish from all sides.

Pigs do not always play well with others. Piggies actually get depressed if their housing is too small, and most store-bought cages are way too small. Piggies must NOT be kept in drafts, being prone to pneumonia.
An Appropriately Sized Cage – Planning may be in order here since the cage size will be dependent on the total number of guinea pigs you may end up with. To be safe, you should always plan on a minimum of two guinea pigs. That cage size is a 30″ x 50″ for a total of 10.5 square feet. For every guinea pig you add, increase cage size by approximately 3 square feet. Always remember that going larger is never a bad thing when it involves caged pets. Construct your own and save a lot.
High Quality Foods – Timothy hay, fresh vegetables, fruits and a good quality of Timothy pellet food. (Stay away from pellet foods that have wheat, soy, alfalfa or beets as the top ingredients.) Use only pellets that are formulated for guinea pigs. Pelleted food that is labeled for use with small animals will lack the proper nutrients that are essential for your guinea pigs. Do not forget the treats. Guinea pigs love treats, so don’t forget them. (Most treats given to these pets are different fruits and veggies. So always keep some on hand.)
When it comes to guinea pig supplies, one frequently overlooked item is the hay rack. Your pig loves hay and it should be readily available to her at all times. One easy way to do this is to use a hay rack which attaches to the wall of your cage. If using a C&C cage, you may be able to find a model with a built-in hay shelter.
You Will Need Cleaning Supplies – You will want to clean the cage at least weekly by getting rid of the soiled betting and spraying the cage bottom with a 50/50 mixture of water and white vinegar. The mixture will cut through the urine and helps prevent staining of the cage. Replace all bedding with new. Wash the food dish every other day with soap and water and spry both the food dish and water bottles with a mixture of 1 part bleach and 10 parts water then rinse. Allow dish and bottles to dry before using again. (Having two water bottles allows you to always have one clean while the other is being used.) Note: Avoid commercial cleaning supplies since most of them will be harmful if not toxic to your guinea pig.
