Wearing a mask on Mardi Gras Day is a tradition in New Orleans. You can wear one of the many Mardi Gras Feather Masks instead of a costume, or with a costume. For single day you can hide your identity from others. Even Hollywood celebrities come to New Orleans during Mardi Gras because for one day they can walk around free. Wearing a mask is a great way express your inner personality or your alter ego.

Have you ever wanted to be someone else for a day? Well you can live out your fantasy behind a mask during Mardi Gras. How would it make you fell if could walk through a crowd of people with no one knowing who you are? This could be your freedom during Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

Masks along with a costume or just a mask along are also used during the parades in the French Quarter to get attention from the float riders and the balcony revelers, so they will throw more beads to you. Couples will color coordinate or deliberately contrast their masks. You and your friends can all wear the same mask if you like.
