The school is conveniently located in Edenvale, Johannesburg. It was founded by Bishop Shanahan and the Sisters of the Holy Rosary Order in 1940. While we are faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church, any girl is welcome at Holy Rosary and we welcome the enrichment provided by other cultures and religions.The history of Holy Rosary School goes back to 1940. Bishop Shanahan, together with some of the Holy Rosary Sister from Ireland undertook the dangerous journey from Ireland to start a school that would equip young people to use their talents fully and so fulfil God’s plan for their lives. The school offers excellent teaching facilities and encourages the girls to be involved in community projects, cultural programmes and sports activities.
