HP 60 ink cartridge drops in price

December 22nd, 2009 by the writer

After the initial release of this cartridge in the Spring of 2008, the HP 60 ink cartridge price is now finally starting to drop.

This is something that we have seen happen several times in the past as new models of cartridges are released. Typically, the price per model starts at a high price point and then tends to drop within 6 – 9 months of the initial release.

The asking price for new OEM cartridges may slide as competition from remanufactured (refilled) cartridges start to enter the market in larger quantities. Prices usually remain rather constant for the OEM until the cartridge starts to lose buyers later in the printer life cycle.

The HP 60 is currently used in about 30 Hewlett Packard inkjet printers (DeskJet and PhotoSmart) so the cartridges will likely be on the market for many years to come.
