Youth Olympic Games 2010 Will Be Held in Singapore

It will bring together 3,600 young sportsman and women between 14 and 18 years of age from 205 National Olympic Committees to compete in the 26 sports on the London 2012 Olympic Games program. A culture and education program will raise participants’ awareness of the Olympic values and topics such as healthy lifestyles and the fight against doping. A number of communications initiatives will link the youth of the world with the event. A culture program will ensure a festive atmosphere within the host city Singapore.
The host city, Singapore, is an multi ethnic, multi cultural city-state off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. It is a very cosmopolitan city with 5 million people and a potpourri of cultures.
