Check Out The New Networked Onkyo Receivers

Onkyo has released a slew of new mid-range receivers that is ready out of the box to adapt to 3D video playback in the home. As you already know through intense media advertising, 3D playback is set to make its mark in the home theater soon and Onkyo is really quick off the blocks with these new receivers. Of the 5 models released so far, the network ready models will be the more popular ones as these will be able to stream internet radio as well as play music files stored on your PC.

The Onkyo TX-NR808 and the Onkyo TX-NR1008 are the higher models in the range and both outputs 135 watts per channel. The NR808 is a 7.2 channel receiver while the NR1008 adds 2 more channels for more flexibility in wiring up for multi room playback. They have the latest HDMI 1.4a inputs that support 3D playback. Both have enough connectivity options that you not be short of inputs for your sources. If you have an iPhone or iPod it is also convenient to plug them in using the front USB port. Album art is also supported and navigation is easy through the receiver’s remote.

The TX-NR808 retails for $1099 and the $1399 goes for a slightly more expensive $1399. They are THX Select2 Plus certified and has Audyssey DSX and Dolby Pro Logic IIz which offers new ways to set up the speakers in your home theater system. All the new models are available now from most retail stores.
