UV Coating has come a long way since it’s inception. Gone are the days of smelly odors and toxic fumes. What started out as a simple silk screen type of process, has come full circle in modern production environments. UV Coaters take full advantage of today’s highly automated manufacturing process.
Some of the latest UV Coating Equipment like the Sunburst 2000 takes larger sized sheets from printing presses and moves them through a roll coating application, where it applies a very thin film of Ultra Violet clear coating. The sheet then runs underneath high voltage lamps and is cured instantly. The piece is dry to the touch immediately and now has a beautiful high gloss shine to protect it from wear and tear.
