Constipation and Irritable Bowel

June 26th, 2010 by the writer

Constipation is only one of the many irritable bowel symptoms that afflict as many as 1 in 5 Americans today. Constipation is defined as the inability to pass one’s bowels. This can cause severe discomfort and abdominal pain. Many thousands of people are seen in hospital emergency rooms because of this each and every year. Some sufferers can get complete relief by taking some fiber into their diet, either by eating fiber-rich foods like apples and whole grain foods, or by taking a daily fiber supplement. Fiber helps the digestive track move things along and get the bowels moving.
