Build Your Own Hot Tub

March 31st, 2008 by the writer

The first and most important thing you have to consider are local building permits. In many municipalities, you will have to acquire a building permit before you start to build your hot tub. This is because you will be adding plumbing and probably electrical connections. In the worst case scenario you will be forced to dismantle the hot tub if it’s found that it has code violations and was built without proper permits.

The next decision you have to make in building your own hot tub is to decide if you want to build it from scratch or use a pre-fabricated hot tub kit or pre-fabricated parts. If you are not an expert plumber or electrician, the pre-fab hot tub kit may be the way to go. You can build the hot tub and allow the professionals to step in and finish off the electrical and plumbing connections for you.
